A scarce set of 6 Georges Briard "Name Your Poison" glasses/caddy set. This hard to come by pattern is the pinnacle of Georges Briard patterns and truly a magical one. Each glass has a poison graphic (i.e. Arsenic, Iodine, Wood Alcohol, etc) and "Name Your Poison" can be found at the bottom of each glass graphic along with "RX" on the sides of the glasses, criss-crossed knives and a mortal/pestle. The graphics colors are a stunning deep black with a vibrant gold. This set includes 5 glasses, 1 Mix Your Poison glass (with 4 swizzle sticks), and 1 gold brass caddy that has a wooden handle. Truly a stunning set that has a magical feel to it.

A quick summary about this glassware maker: Georges Briard was the go-to for decorative housewares in the 1950s and 60s and was carried at upscale retails like Bloomingdale’s and Neiman Marcus. Briard’s success and notoriety came with the use of 22-karat gold as screened decoration for bent glassware. His design hallmarks are repetitive patterns, most often featuring geometric shapes or nature based images. Georges Briard is known for creating some of the most stunning Mid Century Modern glassware as well as Atomic and Kitsch designs in the later 1970s and is the essence of MCM glassware excellence.

Hallmarks: The 5 glasses do not bare the Georges Briard signature. The Mix Your Poison glass is signed "Georges Briard" in gold cursive font. 

Measurements: Each glass measures 5 1/2" tall x 2 3/4" in diameter; the 4 skull swizzle sticks are 6 3/4" in length; the Mix Your Poison glass is 5 3/4" tall x 3" in diameter

Overall condition: Good vintage condition with mild signs of age/wear.  We like to be thorough when it comes to our vintage glassware, so here's a full summary:

1) There's a tiny scrape to the gold on the Arsenic glass
2) As mentioned above the glasses are not signed but the Mix Your Poison glass is
3) The celluloid swizzle sticks show minor age
4) There's a micro tiny scrape through the gold on the Nitro-Glycerin glass
5) The caddy shows mild age including wear to the gold in a few areas

All Rx's (on the sides of the glasses) are in good shape. The graphics are vibrant and in good shape overall. In summary, these collectible glasses are in good vintage condition with mild signs of age and minor wear.
