A 1930s Chase Art Deco Gaiety cocktail shaker set with 7 matching footed cups. Designed by Howard Reichenback for Chase in the mid 1930's. This chrome over brass Art Deco shaker set is simply gorgeous. Chase started producing items in the late 1870's that included bar, serving and heating ware all in chrome over brass or copper. Unfortunately after enjoying their hey day in the 30's the Second World War came. Production was halted as all efforts went to the war. When the war ended they shut their doors and never produced another chrome item again. Truly a magnificent set.

Measurements: The shaker measures 11.5" high by 3.5" diameter. The cocktail cups are 2" high by 2.5" diameter.

Maker/year: 1930s, Chase Brass and Copper Company (designed by Harold Reichenback)

Hallmarks: All of the pieces have the Chase Sagittarius logo

Condition: Fair/good vintage condition. The only reason we're including "fair" as a few of the cups have wear to the very bottom interiors. This set is a stunning one and displays beautifully. We're pretty Type A about the exact condition of our vintage sets, so here's a complete summary:

Cocktail shaker: The lid seems to fit snugly and the interior strainer fits perfectly inside the shaker. There's surface wear around the interior strainer area (likely from being inserted/removed). There's interior wear to the bottom of the shaker (see photo #4). There's general surface wear (i.e. light scratching, scrapes) to the exterior of the shaker inline with a chrome piece that's 90 years old. There's one small ding on the bottom edge of the shaker (see photo #10) and two micro small dings (the size of a pinhead, one on the top lid and one on the side of the shaker, they are so small it was impossible to capture in a photo). The black accents are in great condition with minimal to no wear.

The cups: See photos #5 and #6. The cups are in good condition overall and the exterior of the cups/chrome is extremely vibrant. However, there's some mild but noticeable wear to a few of the interiors of the cups. It does not affect their usability or display factor, but please see photos. No dents or dings to any of the cups.

In short, this set is in good condition overall but we're including "fair" (fair/good) as there's some general wear as well as a small ding on the shaker's very bottom. Truly a lovely set.

**Please Note: we typically do not test our shakers for leakage. We offer a variety of vintage shakers (both usable as well as collectible/display only). We are happy to put our shaker through a thorough leakage test (which involves filling it with liquid and rigorously shaking it) -- please message us if you'd like us to test this particular shaker. Cheers!

**On shipping: We take our packaging very seriously and carefully wrap all pieces well to ensure safe delivery. If you buy multiple pieces/sets, we will combine shipping if possible (glassware sets typically ship in their own box to ensure safe arrival) and will reimburse you for any shipping overages. Please note: we're not making a penny on shipping. This shaker/cups set is solid, heavier in weight and we pack our items well to ensure safe arrival. Cheers!

****Important to note pre-purchase: Buyers, please examine all photos carefully as we cannot accept returns due to the fragile nature (the possibility of breakage or damage when being shipped back) of our vintage/antique pieces. Our items are true vintage pieces that might have manufacturers flaws, flaws from age, or imperfections in general from being vintage. We try to explain the condition/description in an accurate and thorough manner but we ask that you please examine all photos carefully and ask all questions before purchasing an item as we are unable to accept returns due to the risk of breakage/damage.
