A scarce and stunning cocktail shaker by Maxwell Phillip Co, 1930s. This Art Deco cocktail shaker was crafted by the Maxwell Philip Company and features a sculpted hourglass form in chrome plate and heavy glass. Comprised of 3 pieces: the screw on cap, the lid, and the body of the shaker. This stunning figural piece mimics an hourglass perfectly right down to the handles and accents.

Hallmarks: Hallmarked on the bottom (see two photos)

**Please note: this shaker came from a private estate along with another Art Deco cocktail shaker by West Virginia (a 16" skyscraper shaker). If you're interested in the West Virginia piece, please see other listings. This listing is for ONE shaker, which is the Hourglass shaker. Again, this listing only includes a single shaker as outlined in the listing and the last two photos are for reference of the other shaker that we have listed separately. Cheers!

Condition: Very good vintage condition. This Shaker has been in a display cabinet for decades. There's some minor age/wear that comes purely from time and past handling. Here's a summary:

1) Please note: the heavy glass shaker has a subtle "seam" on each side (very, very subtle but this was how this piece was crafted)
2) The cork inside the cap is in good shape overall but does show very minor age
3) The cap screws on tightly but doesn't sit perfectly "flush" with the lid as the lid is curved/dome shaped (very subtle but we like to be thorough)
4) There's a tiny spot of wear to the chrome lid on the right side (very small)
5) There's general minor age that comes purely from time
6) There's general minor surface wear from past handling

In short, this figural shaker is in very good shape with minor age. Truly a stunning piece.

**Please Note: we typically do not test our shakers for leakage. We offer a variety of vintage shakers (both usable as well as collectible/display only). We are happy to put our shaker through a thorough leakage test (which involves filling it with liquid and rigorously shaking it) -- please message us if you'd like us to test this particular shaker.

General vintage glassware disclaimer: Vintage glassware often has imperfections (i.e. tiny bubbles in the glass, an extra spot of gold or enamel that made it on a clear part of the glass, etc -- purely the nature of vintage glassware). Cheers!

Measurements: Approx. 9 1/4" tall

**On shipping: We take our packaging very seriously and carefully wrap all pieces to ensure safe delivery.

****Important to note pre-purchase: Buyers, please examine all photos carefully as we cannot accept returns due to the fragile nature (the possibility of breakage or damage when being shipped back) of our vintage/antique pieces. Our items are true vintage pieces that might have manufacturers flaws, flaws from age, or imperfections in general from being vintage. We try to explain the condition/description in an accurate and thorough manner but we ask that you please examine all photos carefully and ask all questions before purchasing an item as we are unable to accept returns due to the risk of breakage/damage.
