A true classic Art Deco design. Heavy in weight. Truly a magical piece of antique barware.
Maker/year: Apollo Bernard Rice & Sons, 1930s
Measurements: Just shy of 11" (103/4" tall) Hallmarks: "What'll Yer Have?" Apollo Bernard Rice & Sons 5496 PAT. D89653
Condition: Very good vintage condition with a few signs of age/wear. The silver-plating is very vibrant overall. The interior of the shaker is clean overall with some very mild wear to the bottom (see photo #8). There's also a "seam" or thin "line" you can see on the interior (purely the way this shaker was hand-crafted/made). We're pretty Type A about the exact condition of our vintage pieces, so here's a full summary:
- The screw cap has a small but noticeable ding on one edge (see photo #6). It does not affect the cap's ability to screw/unscrew easily and securely.
- There's a small, very shallow dent on the top area of the shaker (near the handle) -- it's so shallow it was impossible to capture in a photo. We attempted to, see photo #9. It's smooth and does not affect the silver-plating.
- There's extremely minimal/general surface wear inline with a piece that's 90 years old. - There's some very minor tarnish (very minor) in a few places. In short, this shaker is in very good vintage condition with two small dings and minor general age. It displays beautifully and has a bit of a magical feel to it.
**Please Note: we typically do not test our shakers for leakage. We offer a variety of vintage shakers (both usable as well as collectible/display only). We are happy to put our shaker through a thorough leakage test (which involves filling it with liquid and rigorously shaking it) -- please message us if you'd like us to test this particular shaker. Cheers!
**On shipping: We take our packaging very seriously and carefully wrap all pieces to ensure safe delivery.
****Important to note pre-purchase: Buyers, please examine all photos carefully as we cannot accept returns due to the fragile nature (the possibility of breakage or damage when being shipped back) of our vintage/antique pieces. Our items are true vintage pieces that might have manufacturers flaws, flaws from age, or imperfections in general from being vintage. We try to explain the condition/description in an accurate and thorough manner but we ask that you please examine all photos carefully and ask all questions before purchasing an item as we are unable to accept returns due to the risk of breakage/damage.
