A lovely 1939 "Wonder Bar" Bakelite Cocktail Picks / Holder set. This spectacular cocktail pick set features a mini "bar" (that's covered in a faux black leather material that's embossed with a subtle alligator pattern) with a chrome top and rail holding 6 picks (6 Bakelite bottles) along with a mini cocktail booklet that contains vintage cocktail recipes. This miniature cocktail set is nothing short of spectacular and has a magical feel to it.
*Please note: this set does not come with a mini "cocktail shaker" or "coupe glass". This set's six picks are all "bottles".
Maker/era: Harris Dunn "Wonder Bar", New York: Harris Dunn Corp. [1939]
Hallmarks: "Harris Dunn Corp. Pat. No. 116459 Made In U.S.A." can be found on the back of the pick set
Condition: Good vintage condition for a set that's 80 years old, but with signs of age/mild wear. We're pretty Type A about the exact condition of our vintage items, so here's a full summary:
1) All pick bottles have their labels, which is pretty remarkable, but there's very minor wear to some in a few areas
2) The book shows general age (and yellowing paper gets over decades) along with some "curling" and a piece of clear tape we presume the previous owner added
3) The stand is in good shape overall but does show minor wear to a few areas of the chrome.
Overall, this set is in good vintage condition with mild signs of age and some general wear (not necessarily from use, but purely from time).Truly a magical set.
Measurements: The picks measure approx. 3 1/2" tall; the stand with picks measures approx 4 1/2" tall.
**On shipping: We take our packaging very seriously and carefully wrap all pieces well to ensure safe delivery. If you buy multiple pieces/sets, we will combine shipping if possible (glassware sets typically ship in their own box to ensure safe arrival) and will reimburse you for any shipping overages.
****Important to note pre-purchase: Buyers, please examine all photos carefully as we cannot accept returns due to the fragile nature (the possibility of breakage or damage when being shipped back) of our vintage/antique pieces. Our items are true vintage pieces that might have manufacturers flaws, flaws from age, or imperfections in general from being vintage. We try to explain the condition/description in an accurate and thorough manner but we ask that you please examine all photos carefully and ask all questions before purchasing an item as we are unable to accept returns due to the risk of breakage/damage.
