A 1946 first edition Trader Vic's Book of Food & Drink (no dust cover), autographed by Trader Vic in blue ink. Trader Vic was a leader in the early tiki drink movement, which became popular when soldiers came home from the South Pacific after WWII. Cocktails herein, many of which are rum based, are given inspired names like Devil's Leap, La Florida daiquiri, shingle stain, rum julep, haote pikia, and dozens more. This hardcover does not have its original dust jacket.

Condition: Good vintage condition with obvious signs of age and wear. We like to be thorough when it comes to our vintage items, so here's a full summary:
1) This book does not come with its original dust cover
2) There's quite a bit of age and some staining to the exterior hard cover (see photo #1 and #6)
3) There's mild yellow to the interior pages that books get over the course of decades
4) There's some staining to the back interior pages including what appears to be a spot of candle wax (see photo #5)
5) There's also one small dark stain on the bottom of page 55 (see photo #4)
The binding is secure. In short, this book is in good vintage condition with very noticeable signs of age/wear. It also comes with magazine ads the original owner folded and inserted into the book that features old food recipes as well as a write up on Trader Vic's famous foods. See photos #7 and #8. Truly a magical guide.
