A 1946 first edition Trader Vic's Book of Food & Drink (no dust cover). Trader Vic was a leader in the early tiki drink movement, which became popular when soldiers came home from the South Pacific after WWII. Cocktails herein, many of which are rum based, are given inspired names like Devil's Leap, La Florida daiquiri, shingle stain, rum julep, haote pikia, and dozens more. This hardcover does not have its original dust jacket.

Format: Hardcover (no dust jacket), 272 pages.

Copyright: 1946, First Edition

Publisher: Doubleday

Author: Victor Bergeron

Condition: Very, very good vintage condition overall with minor signs of age. If this book was "used" it wasn't very much. The binding is very secure/tight. The pages are in excellent shape. There's very mild "yellowing" to the pages (that occurs to books over the course of decades), again purely from time and not use. There's minor signs of "wear" to the hardcover (purely from age and not "use"). Also please note: this hardcover was finished in a "gloss" (this was to protect the book) and there are areas where the manufacturer got the gloss a bit thicker than other areas. It's most noticeable on the back hardcover (upper left). There's also one small dark spot on the bottom exterior pages (the size of a pinhead). In short, this book is in very, very good vintage condition. Truly a magical mixology guide.

Book measures a tad over 7 1/2 x 5 x 4 3/4 inches
