A rare and stunning silver-plated Repousse cocktail shaker by Holland, circa 1920s. No words can express how gorgeous the detailing of this shaker is, with it's heavily textured Dutch figural Repousse design. Heavy in weight, this Repousse shaker features a variety of Dutch figural scenes. Every detail about this shaker is spectacular, from the heavily embossed Repousse scenes (which we tried to capture in the photos, including the detailing around the spout's opening as well as the spout cap top) to the intricate detailing of the lid to the detailing of the spout cap The cap that fits in the spout has its original cork, as does the lid. The handle features an Art Deco design/shape. Truly a magnificent antique piece. This shaker is nothing short of magical.
Maker/year: Holland, 1920s
Hallmarks: "Holland" and "Silverplate on Copper Ware" can be found the on the bottom of the shaker.
Measurements: Approx. 8" tall
Condition: Great vintage condition for a shaker that's 100 years old (this piece has been in a display cabinet for years). The silver-plating is in very good shape and vibrant overall. A small amount of the copper is peaking through some areas of the silver=plating (i.e. on the lid's top, see photo) and there's some very small, minimal spots of wear on a few corners of the handle. The cork in the cap as well as the spout is in excellent condition. Beyond some very minor wear/age, this antique shaker is in very, very good vintage condition and displays beautifully. Truly a breath-taking piece. Cheers!
