A vintage silver-plated flask (by Apollo) with a stunning ribbed, hammered texture. There's a "smooth" square box on the front upper right where one can engrave initials, if they choose to. This flask has a magical feel to it. It's larger in size and features a "swing arm" that attaches the cap to the flask. The cap still has its original cork. Circa 1920s. Truly a neat piece.
Condition: Good/fair vintage condition with very obvious signs of age wear in line with a flask from 1924. We're pretty Type A about the exact condition of our vintage pieces, so here's a full summary:
- the silver-plating has a good amount of tarnish and wear that will likely not polish up to a bright silver. Please note: we do not polish our pieces as some buyers are very particular about as is condition.
- the cap has a good amount of dings/age (one side in particular, see photos #2 and #10) but still works/screws perfectly
- the cork is in good shape overall but does have one small spot of missing cork, see photo #5
- there's a ding on the back of the flask (lower right, see photo #6) and another very shallow/small smooth ding on the back of the flask (middle left) that was impossible to capture in a photo
- there are micro tiny flecks of red paint on the front left (see photo #9) that may or may not polish away
- threre's a spot of what looks like tiny scratches (likely how it was cleaned in the past) on the top of the swing arm
The swing arm and cap work perfectly. We're listing this 1920s flask is in "fair" condition due to the obvious signs of age and wear but it displays beautifully and has a magical feel to it.
**Please Note: we typically do not test our flasks for leakage. We offer a variety of vintage flasks (both usable as well as collectible/display only). We are happy to put our flasks through a thorough leakage test (which involves filling it with liquid and rigorously shaking it) -- please message us if you'd like us to test this particular flask. Cheers!
Hallmarks: The inside of the swing arm is embossed with:
Apollo, E.P.B.M
Measurements: Approx 8 1/2" tall x 4 3/4 wide x 1/2" in thickness
Cheers!
**On shipping: We take our packaging very seriously and carefully wrap all pieces to ensure safe delivery.
****Important to note pre-purchase: Buyers, please examine all photos carefully as we cannot accept returns due to the fragile nature (the possibility of breakage or damage when being shipped back) of our vintage/antique pieces. Our items are true vintage pieces that might have manufacturers flaws, flaws from age, or imperfections in general from being vintage. We try to explain the condition/description in an accurate and thorough manner but we ask that you please examine all photos carefully and ask all questions before purchasing an item as we are unable to accept returns due to the risk of breakage/damage. Cheers!
>>> IMPORTANT UNPACKING INSTRUCTIONS/PROOF OF ORDER ACCURACY & SHIPMENT: on orders with MULTIPLE pieces please note that if your order has more than one item/piece in it (so multiple pieces such as a set of jiggers, cocktail picks, tags, Julep cups, combined shipping orders, etc.) please take care to thoroughly empty the box and unpack ALL pieces which may be hidden in tissue paper, bubble wrap, peanuts, etc. We cannot be responsible if you accidentally throw one of your items away! We WILL be able to confirm with 100% certainty that we shipped ALL pieces in your order as we photograph/document ALL PIECES in the box it ships in along with the buyer’s order receipt, shipping label, and tracking number (in case we need to verify that all pieces were shipped once the package has been received). Thank you for shopping with us and cheers!
