A lovely Art Deco styled cocktail shaker by WMF, early Mid Century. This shaker is simply stunning and features a "fluted" bulbous pattern (we had a tough time capturing its true silhouette due to the shiny exterior picking up reflections in the room). This shaker is nickel silver and is comprised of 3 pieces: the body of the shaker, the lid, and the cap. Truly a breath-taking piece that displays beautifully. A lovely nod to Art Deco style.

A little bit about this manufacturer: Founded in 1853, the "Württembergische Metallwarenfabrik" (WMF), translated as "Württemberg Metal Factory," was founded by Daniel Straub and the Schweizer brothers in Geislingen, Germany, initially named "Metallwarenfabrik Straub & Schweizer". Through mergers, including with Ritter & Co in 1880, the company became known as WMF, with the "Württemberg" part referencing the region where it was established. Renowned for its Art Nouveau designs, WMF created some stunning barware pieces including bar spoons, jiggers, cocktail shakers, and these silver-plated cups. You will often see "Cromargan" associated with WMF. WMF acquired the rights to use the name "Cromargan" (their own trademark for stainless steel) in 1927, launching their famous Cromargan cookware and cutlery lines shortly after, with Cromargan becoming a core material and brand for WMF for decades.

Hallmarks: "NS" (for nickel silver) and "WMF" can be found on the bottom of the shaker along with two other company hallmarks.

Condition: Good vintage condition with mild signs of age. We like to be thorough so here's a full summary:

1) There's tarnish in a number of places (we have not polished this piece)
2) There's what we refer to as surface wear (that includes scrapes and scratches) from past handling, how it was stored, etc.
3) There's noticeable surface wear on the bottom exterior of the shaker
4) The cap has two micro shallow dings on the very top edges...they are so minor it was impossible to capture it in a photo (see see photos #19 and #20)

In short, this vintage shaker is in good vintage condition but does show noticeable signs of age, surface wear, and tarnish. It displays beautifully.

**Please Note: we typically do not test our shakers for leakage. We offer a variety of vintage shakers (both usable as well as collectible/display only). We are happy to put our shaker through a thorough leakage test (which involves filling it with liquid and rigorously shaking it) -- please message us if you'd like us to test this particular shaker. We suspect this shaker is ideal for display only and not mixing cocktails.

Measurements: Approx. 8" tall

**On shipping: We take our packaging very seriously and carefully wrap all pieces to ensure safe delivery. Please note: this shaker will be packed extremely well, which means a larger, heavier box. If you purchase multiple pieces, we will combine shipping (if possible) and reimburse you on shipping overages. Cheers!

****Important to note pre-purchase: Buyers, please examine all photos carefully as we cannot accept returns due to the fragile nature (the possibility of breakage or damage when being shipped back) of our vintage/antique pieces. Our items are true vintage pieces that might have manufacturers flaws, flaws from age, or imperfections in general from being vintage. We try to explain the condition/description in an accurate and thorough manner but we ask that you please examine all photos carefully and ask all questions before purchasing an item as we are unable to accept returns due to the risk of breakage/damage.
