A lovely vintage silver-plated flask with a solid sterling silver cap by Meriden, 1940s. This flask features a "swing arm" (that connects to the cap and body of the flask and a smooth "box" on the front where one can engrave their initials, if they choose to, along with an Art Deco lined pattern that runs vertically. This flask has a magical feel to it. The body of the flask is silver-plated and the cap portion is sterling silver (see hallmarks below). A beautiful piece that's well-crafted. The cap still has its original cork. Truly a lovely antique flask.
Condition: Good vintage condition overall with minor but noticeable signs of age/general wear. We're pretty Type A about the exact condition of our vintage pieces, so here's a full summary:
1) The silver-plating is in good shape overall but does show "general surface wear" including superficial scrapes here and there from past handling
2) There's tarnish (mostly on the back of the flask)
3) The cap is in very good shape overall; there is a very tiny ding that's so shallow it was impossible to capture in a photo
4) There's a pinhead sized shallow ding on the upper front of the flask that was also impossible to capture in a photo, so we're noting it here
The swing arm and cap work perfectly. In short, this flask is in good vintage condition overall but does show signs of age/general wear and tarnish.
**Please Note: we typically do not test our flasks for leakage. We offer a variety of vintage flasks (both usable as well as collectible/display only). We are happy to put our flasks through a thorough leakage test (which involves filling it with liquid and rigorously shaking it) -- please message us if you'd like us to test this particular flask. Cheers!
Hallmarks: "Meriden B Co" and "International Silver Co" and Meriden's company logo can be found on the bottom of the flask in micro tiny letter along with "1322" and "Sterling Cap" can be found on the side of the cap (see photos)
Measurements: Approx. 8 1/4" tall x 4 1/4" wide - this is a full sized, larger flask
