Maker/pattern/era: Designed by Russel Wright for Bartlett Collins, "Asterisk", Mid Century
A quick summary on this glassware manufacturer: Bartlett-Collins was started in 1914 in Oklahoma when Bartlett, an Oklahoma oil man, teamed up with Collins, an East Coast glass man. Together they formed Bartlett -Collins. The company was noted for its hand-pressed and blown tableware, stemware, and kitchenware and some of their most popular Mid Century glasses include the North Star pattern and their "Under The Sea" seahorses pattern. The Asterisk pattern was created specifically for Bartlett Collins by Mid Century design Russel Wright.
Hallmarks: None
This set includes 6 pieces: 1 ice bucket and 5 highball glasses
Measurements: The ice bucket measures 4 1/4" tall x just shy of 6 1/2" in diameter; the glasses measure 7" tall x just shy of 3" in diameter
Ice Bucket Condition: Very good vintage condition with minor signs of wear. The glass clarity is perfectly clear (no cloudiness). We like to be thorough when it comes to our vintage pieces, so here's a full summary:
1) The gold on the rim has very mild wear (from age, not use)
2) The enameled Asterisks have very, very minor wear (on only there are two very, very small spots of wear)
3) There is very, very minor wear to the larger gold starbursts (it is so incredibly minor we almost didn't mention it)
Glasses Condition: Very, very good condition. The glass clarity is perfectly clear (no cloudiness). The enamel is completely in tact. The gold starbursts are in good shape. There is very minor wear to some of the gold (and we mean minor). No chips or nicks. And please note: unlike the ice bucket, the glasses do not bare a gold rim.
In short, this set is in very good vintage condition with very minor wear in a few small places. It displays beautifully. Cheers!
