Ted Saucier's "Bottoms Up" Cocktail Book, sixth printing (1954). Saucier was the publicist for the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel in New York City. His 1951 cocktail classic book, Bottoms Up includes close to 800 drinks, plus twelve risqué (for that time period) illustrations by twelve different artists. The book is larger in size and quite heavy in weight and features it's original clear laminated covering that features numerous woman sitting in a coupe glass with the words "Bottoms Up" on each picture. This book also has its original slipcover (a rarity) -- which includes "Bottoms Up" in gold lettering against a vibrant burgundy coupe glass. Truly a magical cocktail guide.
Book measures Approx. 10" tall x 7 1/4" wide
Condition: The book itself is in very good vintage condition with minor signs of age. The pages are crisp. Tight binding. Very, very minor age or wear to the exterior hardcover, specifically some areas of wear to the very edges and corners or the hardcover. The plastic slipcover, however, is in "Fair" condition and shows quite a bit of age including rips and tears along the exterior edges. Please see photos. In short, the book is in very good vintage condition; the slipcover is in "Fair" condition with very obvious signs of age/wear. Cheers.
