1941 Burke's Complete Cocktail and Tastybite Recipes manual. Truly a cool vintage cocktail book. Written by Harman “Barney” Burke, Burke was an American barman who plied his trade in London, Paris, Berlin, and Copenhagen before returning to America after repeal and writing this book. According to Mr. Burke, cocktails should accompany appetizers and he provides a number of appetizer recipes.

***Please note: the original owner paperclipped their favorite Dry Martini (written in pencil on a piece of paper) to the very back age. See photos. We're a bit superstitious about leaving vintage items (including inserts, etc in books) exactly as they were found. See last two photos for reference.

Condition: Very good condition for a book that's 80 years old. The black hardcover is in good condition overall and the gold lettering is vibrant. There is one small indention on the back of the hardcover's edge (see photo #3, it's very subtle). The interior pages are in very good condition but do show yellowing that occurs to paper/books over the course of decades (see photos for reference). As mentioned above, the original owner paperclipped their favorite Dry Martini recipe to the back interior page (see photo #9 and #10 for reference). The binding of this book is tight. In short, this book is in good vintage condition overall but does show mild signs of age and wear. Truly a magical mixology guide.

Measurements: 6 3/4" tall by 4 1/4" wide

**On shipping: We take our packaging very seriously and carefully wrap all pieces to ensure safe delivery. This book will ship Media Mail, which much slower than Priority Mail. If purchasing multiple vintage pieces, we will combine shipping to a single box or as few boxes as possible and will reimburse you for all shipping overages.

****Important to note pre-purchase: Buyers, please examine all photos carefully as we cannot accept returns due to the fragile nature (the possibility of breakage or damage when being shipped back) of our vintage/antique pieces. Our items are true vintage pieces that might have manufacturers flaws, flaws from age, or imperfections in general from being vintage. We try to explain the condition/description in an accurate and thorough manner but we ask that you please examine all photos carefully and ask all questions before purchasing an item as we are unable to accept returns due to the risk of breakage/damage.
