A breath-taking set of 4 Culver "Basketweave" or "Burlap" glasses. This pattern is heavily embossed and features a "mesh" or "burlap" texture. Truly the epitome of MCM gold-embossed glassware, its easy to see why this pattern is one of Culver's pinnacles.

A quick summary about this glassware maker: Culver started the application of the 22-karat gold to their glassware. Fun fact: the super-heated, roll-on process of gold remains a secret today. Culver comes in a variety of patterns including gilded mushrooms, owls, cats, wildlife, Egyptian or Asian inspired design themes, scrolling leaf patterns, holiday designs, sports motifs and many others. The Basketweave pattern is one of the most rare/obscure Culver pattern's and the true essence of Hollywood Regency and vintage glam!

Maker/year: Culver "Basketweave", 1960s

Hallmarks: All glasses are signed "Culver"

Condition: Excellent vintage condition. The gold is so vibrant and intense, so much so we had a tough time capturing photos without major glare. Please note: these glasses/the pattern was made in a "mold" and some of the glasses have a subtle "seam" you can see ( completely common with Mid Century glassware, see photo #3 for reference). The glass clarity is perfectly clear, no cloudiness. Truly a breath-taking set.

We are selling a set of 6 Culver Burlap glasses, if you're interested in a larger set. Please see other listings!
