A stunning Mid-Century Culver Canella glassware caddy set. This set includes a gold metal caddy, 6 small rocks glasses, a martini pitcher, and a glass stirring wand. Truly a breath-taking set that screams Hollywood Regency! The pattern is heavily "embossed" or textured with Culver's 22k gold "Canella" design (a basketweave pattern) and truly breath-taking! The vibrancy of the gold as well as the texture is simply gorgeous. We took photos in two different lighting settings to capture the vibrancy of the pattern.
This set includes 9 pieces: 1 caddy, 1 glass stirring wand, 1 martini pitcher, and 6 small rocks glasses
*This pattern is often spelled two different ways: "Canella" and "Cannella" -- (the correct spelling is Canella) -- so we use both for search purposes.
A quick summary about this glassware maker: Culver was famous for their stunning decorative glassware in 22-karat gold – think lavish and opulent cocktailware of the 1950s and 60s. In the late 1950’s, Culver started the application of the 22-karat gold to their glassware. Fun fact: the super-heated, roll-on process of gold remains a secret today. Culver comes in a variety of patterns including gilded mushrooms, owls, cats, wildlife, Egyptian or Asian inspired design themes, scrolling leaf patterns, holiday designs, sports motifs and many others. The Canella pattern is the pinnacle of their patterns and oozes Hollywood Regency and vintage glam!
Maker/pattern/year: Culver Ltd, 22K gold "Canella" pattern, 1960s
Hallmarks: None. The glasses or pitcher do NOT bare the Culver signature.
Measurements: The wand measures 9 1/2" in length; the pitcher 9 1/4" tall; the rocks glasses 2 1/2" tall x 2 1/4" in diameter; the caddy measrues 12" wide -- please note: these are smaller in size rocks glasses.
Condition: Very good vintage condition with mild signs of age. We like to be thorough when it comes to our vintage sets, so here's a full summary:
1) The gold metal caddy is in great condition with minor wear; the wood handles are also in great condition
2) The pitcher shows minor wear/gold loss (specifically to the lower area/gold trim at the very bottom of the pitcher) -- see photo #6 and #9
3) The pitcher appears less "gold" than the glasses; it's a bit of an optical illusion as the pattern is exactly the same on all pieces, this is due to the taller size of the pitcher compared the small rocks glasses
4) All glasses have a subtle "seam" -- purely the nature of this specific Culver pattern; it's very subtle
**On shipping: We take our packaging very seriously and carefully wrap all pieces to ensure safe delivery. Please note: we don't make a penny on shipping. We take our shipping seriously to ensure safe arrival and this set will be double boxed, which means a larger, heavier box.
****Important to note pre-purchase: Buyers, please examine all photos carefully as we cannot accept returns due to the fragile nature (the possibility of breakage or damage when being shipped back) of our vintage/antique pieces. Our items are true vintage pieces that might have manufacturers flaws, flaws from age, or imperfections in general from being vintage. We try to explain the condition/description in an accurate and thorough manner but we ask that you please examine all photos carefully and ask all questions before purchasing an item as we are unable to accept returns due to the risk of breakage/damage.
