A breath-taking set of 6 Culver jeweled glasses. This pattern is similar to Culver's "Charm Bracelet" pattern but slightly different in that there are no ballerinas or pearls. This pattern consists of jeweled butterflies, song birds, and flowers (with a Turquoise blue back/interior). Truly a breath-taking and rare set. The pictures don't do them justice and we'll like re-shoot this set to offer new photos.
A quick summary about this glassware maker: Culver started the application of the 22-karat gold to their glassware. Fun fact: the super-heated, roll-on process of gold remains a secret today. Culver comes in a variety of patterns including gilded mushrooms, owls, cats, wildlife, Egyptian or Asian inspired design themes, scrolling leaf patterns, holiday designs, sports motifs and many others. Culver's jeweled patterns remain their most popular patterns to this day.
Maker/era: Culver Ltd., Mid Century
Hallmarks: All glasses are signed "Culver Ltd" (Culver Limited)
Measurements: 5 1/2" tall x 2 3/4" in diameter
Condition: Good vintage condition. The gold is vibrant. The glass clarity is clear overall. Four of the glasses have all of their jewels, two of the glasses are missing 1 single jewel (1 glass is missing a jewel on a flower, 1 glass is missing a jewel on a bird). Other things to note about these glasses:
- All culver jeweled glasses (whether this pattern or the Mardi Gras, etc) will often have glue "residue" around the jewel that's either an opaque tone or a darker tone. These glasses are no exception and there's glue residue around a number of the jewels. Again, completely common but we want to mention this as we're very Type A about summarizing our sets
- Mid Century glassware will typically have small imperfections (i.e. a spot in the glass, a tiny bubble that got trapped in the glass, other very small imperfections, etc. These glasses will have some of that as they are Mid Century glasses.
In short, this set is in good vintage condition. The gold is vibrant overall with just a few spots of wear. All jewels are present less the two mentioned above. Truly a stunning and rare set.
