A lovely and rare set of 4 Culver "Oil Derrick" glasses. These collins glasses features a deep black "Oil Derrick" pattern with gold rims on the top and a thicker gold band on the bases. Heavier in weight, these glasses have a solid feel to them. The pictures don't do them justice.

Maker: Culver Ltd.

A quick summary about this glassware maker: Culver was famous for their stunning decorative glassware in 22-karat gold – think lavish and opulent cocktailware of the 1950s and 60s. In the late 1950’s, Culver started the application of the 22-karat gold to their glassware. Fun fact: the super-heated, roll-on process of gold remains a secret today. Culver comes in a variety of patterns including gilded mushrooms, owls, cats, wildlife, Egyptian or Asian inspired design themes, scrolling leaf patterns, holiday designs, sports motifs and many others.

Hallmarks: None. Please note: Culver did not sign this particular pattern

Measurements: A tad over 5 1/2" tall x 2 3/4" diameter

Condition: Excellent condition. The glass clarity is perfect (no cloudiness) and the gold/black is vibrant. The gold on the rims is in tact and vibrant. No chips of any kind. Please note: one glass has what appears to be a "scratch" on the bottom of the glass. We are unsure if it's an actual scratch or occurred during manufacturing (Mid Century glassware often has "waves" or "wrinkles" etc that occurred during the time of creation. Purely the nature of Mid Century glassware. It was impossible to capture in a photo). In short, this set is in great condition and displays beautifully. Truly a gorgeous set.

**On shipping: We take our packaging very seriously and carefully wrap all pieces well to ensure safe delivery. Please note: we are not making a penny on shipping. We pack our items securely to ensure safe arrival (especially our glassware, which means a larger, heavier box)! If you buy multiple pieces/sets, we will combine shipping if possible (glassware sets typically ship in their own box to ensure safe arrival) and will reimburse you for any shipping overages.
