A stunning and rare set of 4 Culver Peacock glasses/tumblers. This pattern is the pinnacle of Culver glassware. No words can express how magical these glasses are. Each glass depicts a 22-karat gold peacock. His feathers are adorned by bold colored rhinestones. These glasses are two-sided and also feature a snowflake-like design on the opposite side that has a rhinestone in the center of it. Truly a magical and stunning set of glasses.

A quick summary about this glassware maker: Culver started the application of the 22-karat gold to their glassware. Fun fact: the super-heated, roll-on process of gold remains a secret today. Culver comes in a variety of patterns including gilded mushrooms, owls, cats, wildlife, Egyptian or Asian inspired design themes, scrolling leaf patterns, holiday designs, sports motifs and many others. The Peacock pattern is one of Culver's harder to find patterns and is the essence of Culver glassware.

Maker/era: Culver, late 1940s

Hallmarks: All glasses are signed "Culver" in gold cursive

Measurements: 5 1/2" tall x 2 3/4" in diameter

Condition: These glasses are in very, very good vintage condition. They belonged to one owner and have been in a cabinet for years. The gold is extremely vibrant and there are no missing jewels. There are a few very small spots of wear to the gold in a few places. No chips or nicks of any kind. We're pretty Type A about describing the exact vintage condition of our items, so here's a glass by glass summary:

Glass 1 - The "er" of the Culver signature is faded.
Glass 2 - There's one tiny spot of "glue residue" that's darker in color near the orange jewel on the right (completely common with Culver's jeweled glassware)
Glass 3 - There's some extremely minimal wear on the body of the peacock
Glass 4 - There are a few spots of extremely minimal wear to the gold near the right orange jewel.

And please note: Mid Century glassware (and earlier glassware, in this case 1940s) can have tiny bubbles, glue residue near the jewels, and other natural imperfections -- purely the nature of Mid Century glassware. In short, this set of glasses is in very, very good vintage condition with some very mild wear in a limited number of places. They display beautifully. Truly a breath-taking set.
