A lovely Mid Century Modern shot glasses caddy set by Culver, "Empress" pattern. This stunning pattern features a combination of 22k gold embossing (that has an intentional "crackle" to it) surrounding vibrant blue and green rectangles. The pictures don't do the vibrancy and intensity of the blue and green colors justice. Truly a breath-taking pattern! The raised or 3-D like texture of this pattern is simply gorgeous. Truly a lovely set.

A quick summary about this glassware maker: Culver started the application of the 22-karat gold to their glassware. Fun fact: the super-heated, roll-on process of gold remains a secret today. Culver comes in a variety of patterns including gilded mushrooms, owls, cats, wildlife, Egyptian or Asian inspired design themes, scrolling leaf patterns, holiday designs, sports motifs and many others. The Empress pattern is the essence of Hollywood Regency and vintage glam.

Maker/pattern/era: Culver, Empress, Mid Century

Hallmarks: These shot glasses do not bare any hallmarks

Set includes: 1 caddy and 6 shot glasses

Measurements: Each shot glass measures approx. 2 1/4" tall x 2" in diameter; the caddy measures just shy of 7" in length x 4" tall x 4" in width

Condition: Very, very good vintage condition overall with mild signs of age and wear. We're pretty Type A about the exact condition of our items/sets, so here's a full summary:

1) The metal caddy is in good condition overall but does have one spot of wear that's noticeable about 1/8" in size (where the gold-plating is worn/gone), see photos #4 and #5 (back left section)
2) The wood handle is in great shape
3) The shot glasses are all in very good shape (great glass clarity) no chips or nicks
4) There's a "seam" (purely the nature of this Culver pattern and many other Culver patterns and how the pattern was applied to the glass) -- it's very subtle but we like to mention it -- so, all glasses have a subtle pattern "seam"
5) The pattern is extremely vibrant and in good shape overall with very little to no gold loss but does show minor "age" (that comes purely from time, not use)

In short, this set is in very good vintage condition overall with mild signs of age. Truly a stunning set that displays beautifully.
