A stunning caddy by Culver. This pattern is called "Silver Clouds" (Culver also made this pattern in gold, "Gold Clouds") and it features an Art Deco-esque design of platinum silver arches against a frosted background. The arches include two different platinum silver tones: one is a "matte" and the other a shiny tone. The pictures don't do the pattern justice. The caddy is a vibrant Chrome and has a Walnut wood handle. Truly a breath-taking set.

Maker/era: Culver; 1970s

A bit about this vintage manufacturer: Culver was famous for their stunning decorative glassware in 22-karat gold – think lavish and opulent cocktailware of the 1950s and 60s. In the late 1950’s, Culver started the application of the 22-karat gold to their glassware. Fun fact: the super-heated, roll-on process of gold remains a secret today. Culver comes in a variety of patterns including gilded mushrooms, owls, cats, wildlife, Egyptian or Asian inspired design themes, holiday designs, sports motifs and many others. Culver stopped producing its gold overlay pieces in the 1980s.

Hallmarks: All glasses are signed "Culver LTD" inside of an "arch"

Measurements: Each glass is approx 3 1/2" tall x 3 1/4" in diameter; the caddy set measures 11 1/2" long x 6" wide x 6" tall

Condition: Very good vintage condition with mild signs of wear. We like to be thorough, so here's a full summary:

1) There is some very, very minor wear to some of the silver in a few small areas
2) There are some very minor manufacturing occurrences (purely the nature of MCM glassware) including a small area in the frosted part of the glass that's slightly lighter
3) The caddy wobbles ever so slightly when on a hard/flat surface (very slight)
4) There's one small "wrinkle" on the bottom exterior of one of the glasses (common with Mid Century glassware, where what appears to be a textured "wrinkle" occurred during the making of the glass)

The caddy is in great shape overall. The chrome-plating is vibrant and the Walnut wood handle is in great shape. The glasses are in very, very good shape overall. In short, this set is in very, very good vintage condition and displays beautifully.
