A lovely spouted martini cocktail pitcher and thick glass stirring wand by Gay Fad. This lovely pitcher features a Paisley pattern of stark white, Turquoise blue, and gold. It's "dual" sized and one side is white bands, while the other side is Turquoise. The pictures don't do this piece justice. The glass stirring wand is thicker in size and features a "flat" end and "fat spoon" finial. Truly a lovely Martini Pitcher.
A quick summary about this glassware maker: Gay Fad Studios was founded by Fran Taylor in Detroit, Michigan in 1939 before she relocated the business to Lancaster in 1945. The studio painted glassware by hand, with various designs. It remained in operation until 1963 when it was sold to Santa Claus Inc., an Iowa company. The Bordeaux pattern remains one of the most popular patterns today.
Maker/Era: Gay Fad / Mid Century
Measurements: The pitcher measures 10 1/4" tall; the glass wand measures 10 3/4" in length
Hallmarks: The pitcher is signed "Gay Fad" in gold font (see photo)
Condition: Good vintage condition. The glass clarity is perfectly clear. The pattern is in great shape. There is some very minor Gold loss in a few places (very minor). There's also some very minor age to the white and Turquoise pattern (i.e. a tiny scrape or scuff). Overall this pitcher and wand set is in very good condition and displays beautifully.
