A stunning sterling silver cocktail spoon by Georg Jensen, 1930s. This spoon features a long stem and chunky squared handle. Still it its original felt, hallmarked bag. Truly a magical antique bar spoon that displays beautifully.
A bit about this vintage manufacturer: Georg Jensen was a Danish silversmith who founded the eponymous company in 1904, achieving international fame for his modern designs blending Art Nouveau and Scandinavian aesthetics. His works emphasized natural motifs and fine craftsmanship, which defined the distinctive Georg Jensen style. Though Jensen continued to design, he focused on the business, hiring other silversmiths to create the pieces, with the brand growing to have international shops and influence in the 20th century. He passed away in 1935, having established a world-renowned silversmithy known for its modern and influential designs.
Hallmarks: "USA Georg Jensen" and "Sterling 310" can be found on the upper part of the handle (see photo for reference) and the felt bag has a fabric patch that has "Georg Jensen Inc Fifth Ave. New York"
Measurements: Just shy of 13" in length (weight 68 grams)
Condition: Very good condition with mild signs of age. We like to be thorough so here's a full summary:
1) The handle and stem show what we refer to as mild general surface wear (from past handling, etc) that can include micro fine scratches
2) There's some very mild tarnish (we have not polished this piece)
3) The felt bag is in good shape overall with minor "age" that cloth gets over the years (purely from time)
Overall, this antique bar spoon is in very good vintage condition. Truly a gorgeous antique piece.
