A stunning set of 7 Georges Briard tumblers. These glasses are downright stunning with a heavily embossed gold and vibrant orange enamel design that has the most incredible "raised" texture. The pattern features a vibrant orange "rays" connecting to a gold floral medallion center. The glasses are from their "Art Deco" line (which included a few other patterns). The pictures don't do these glasses justice. Truly a breath-taking set.

A quick summary about this glassware maker: Georges Briard was the go-to for decorative housewares in the 1950s and 60s and was carried at upscale retails like Bloomingdale’s and Neiman Marcus. Briard’s success and notoriety came with the use of 22-karat gold as screened decoration for bent glassware. His design hallmarks are repetitive patterns, most often featuring geometric shapes or nature based images. Georges Briard is known for creating some of the most stunning Mid Century Modern glassware as well as Atomic and Kitsch designs in the later 1970s and is the essence of MCM glassware excellence.

Maker/year: Georges Briard, 1950s

Hallmarks: All glasses are signed "ART DECO by Georges Briard" (in an Deco-style font and cursive font) in 22k gold

Measurements: 5 1/2" tall x 2 3/4" in diameter

Condition: Great vintage condition. These glasses have been in a display cabinet for years. The orange and gold is vibrant. Great glass clarity (no cloudiness). There's extremely, extremely minimal wear (due to age and basic manufacturing flaws, not from use). One of the orange "rays" didn't get fully filled in in one spot (completely common for Mid Century glassware). Beyond that, these glasses are in very good vintage condition and display beautifully. Truly a breath-taking and uncommon set. Also, please note: the raised flowers inside the medallion are an iridescent tone and not gold (this is not wear or gold loss, this is the intentional design/pattern).

**On shipping: We take our packaging very seriously and carefully wrap all pieces to ensure safe delivery. Please note: we are not making a penny on shipping. These glasses will be double-boxed to ensure safe arrival, which means a larger, heavier box!
