A stunning set of 6 Georges Briard tumblers. These glasses are downright stunning with a heavily embossed gold and green enamel design that has the most incredible "raised" texture. The pattern features an intense, vibrant gold scroll pattern that covers an Olive green enamel. These glasses ooze Hollywood Regency style! The pictures don't do them justice. Truly a breath-taking set. We are unsure of this pattern name as this is the first time we've run across this particular Georges Briard pattern.

A quick summary about this glassware maker: Georges Briard was the go-to for decorative housewares in the 1950s and 60s and was carried at upscale retails like Bloomingdale’s and Neiman Marcus. Briard’s success and notoriety came with the use of 22-karat gold as screened decoration for bent glassware. His design hallmarks are repetitive patterns, most often featuring geometric shapes or nature based images. Georges Briard is known for creating some of the most stunning Mid Century Modern glassware as well as Atomic and Kitsch designs in the later 1970s and is the essence of MCM glassware excellence.

Maker/year: Georges Briard, 1950s

Hallmarks: All glasses are signed "Georges Briard" in 22k gold cursive (the signature on 1 glass is slightly more faded than the other 5)

Measurements: 5 3/4" tall x 2 3/4" in diameter

Condition: Very good vintage condition with sign signs of gold loss. The glass clarity is clear (no cloudiness). There is noticeable (by noticeable we mean if you hold the glasses up close and scrutinize them) gold loss on most all glasses (i.e. the gold line at the top or bottom) but the gold overall is extremely vibrant. The green enamel is in good condition; however it has a bit more of a "matte" appearance on a couple of the glasses it as impossible to capture in a photo). Lastly, one of the glasses has two fleabite (they are extremely, extremely small) chips on the rim (see photo #4 for reference; they're about an inch apart, along the rim). In short, these glasses are in very good vintage condition and display beautifully. Truly a breath-taking and uncommon set.
