A neat set of 4 Mid Century Modern Georges Briard Pop Art "Heinz" glasses. These whimsical glasses feature the Heinz Tomato Soup label. They are all dual-sided and feature Pop Art on both sides (each side features a different version of the Heinz Tomato Soup label, see photo #2 or #10 for reference). These glasses are the epitome of the whimsical nature of Georges Briard patterns during the Mid Century. The vibrant enameled pattern is truly stunning. Truly a neat and rare set.

A quick summary about this glassware maker: Georges Briard was the go-to for decorative housewares in the 1950s and 60s and was carried at upscale retails like Bloomingdale’s and Neiman Marcus. Briard’s success and notoriety came with the use of 22-karat gold as screened decoration for bent glassware. His design hallmarks are repetitive patterns, most often featuring geometric shapes or nature based images. Georges Briard is known for creating some of the most stunning Mid Century Modern glassware as well as Atomic and Kitsch designs in the later 1970s and is the essence of MCM glassware excellence.

Maker/year: Georges Briard, 1960s

Hallmarks: All glasses are signed "Georges Briard" in white enamel

Measurements: 5 1/2" tall x 2 3/4" in diameter

Condition: Great vintage condition. The glass clarity is perfectly clear, the enameled pattern is near pristine. Please note: one glass is every so slightly a different shape of orange than the other three. Not uncommon for MCM glassware. It's very, very subtle. Overall, these glasses are in great vintage condition and display beautifully. Truly a magical and whimsical set.
