At the top of the ice bucket you can find criss-crossed knives and a mortal/pestle and a pistol. The graphics colors are a stunning deep black with a vibrant gold. Briard’s success and notoriety came with the use of 22-karat gold as screened decoration for bent glassware. His design hallmarks are repetitive patterns, most often featuring geometric shapes or nature based images. Georges Briard is known for creating some of the most stunning Mid Century Modern glassware as well as Atomic and Kitsch designs in the later 1970s and is the essence of MCM glassware excellence.

Maker/era: Georges Briard, Mid Century

Hallmarks: The ice bucket is not signed by Briard, but is hallmarked with a tiny embossed "H" on the bottom (Briard often used Hazel Atlas blank glass pieces for their patterns).

Measurements: The ice bucket (not including the caddy) measures a tad over 4 1/2" by 5 3/4" tall

Overall condition: Good vintage condition with mild signs of age/wear. We like to be thorough when it comes to our vintage glassware, so here's a full summary:

1) The main/front graphic is in very good shape and vibrant.
2) There's some mild gold loss to the Rx's that are to the left and right of the main/front label.
3) Please note: the motar/pestles all intentionally have a tiny spot that's not filled in with gold, this is intentional and is supposed to be a light reflection spot; they all have the exact same design (see photo #4 for reference).
4) The gold metal caddy shows mild age and tarnish/patina.

In short, this caddy is in good shape but does show gold loss on the non-main (left and right) Rx's and the caddy shows mild age/tarnish. It display beautifully and had a magical feel to it.

***General vintage glassware disclaimer: Please note, Mid Century glassware often had manufacturing occurrences such as waves in the glass, a tiny bubble or dimple in the glass, an extra dot of gold paint that made it on the black enamel, etc. Purely the nature of Mid Century glassware.
