A magical set of seven (7) Georges Briard "Name Your Poison" glasses/swizzle set. This scarce pattern is the pinnacle of Georges Briard patterns and truly a magical one. Each glass has a different poison graphic (i.e. Wood Alcohol, Carbolic Acid) and "Name Your Poison" can be found at the bottom of each glass graphic along with "RX" on the sides of the glasses, criss-crossed knives and a mortal/pestle. The swizzle sticks are a hard resin (in an ivory or off-white tone) with jeweled rhinestone eyes. Truly a breath-taking set.
.
This set includes 7 pieces total;: 6 Georges Briard Name Your Poison glasses that include Iodine, Arsenic, Paris Green, Wood Alcohol, Carbolic Acid, Strychnine and 1 Mix Your Poison glasses that has 4 Skull swizzle sticks.

A quick summary about this glassware maker: Georges Briard was the go-to for decorative housewares in the 1950s and 60s and was carried at upscale retails like Bloomingdale’s and Neiman Marcus. Briard’s success and notoriety came with the use of 22-karat gold as screened decoration for bent glassware. His design hallmarks are repetitive patterns, most often featuring geometric shapes or nature based images. Georges Briard is known for creating some of the most stunning Mid Century Modern glassware as well as Atomic and Kitsch designs in the later 1970s and is the essence of MCM glassware excellence.

Maker/era: Georges Briard, Mid Century

Hallmarks: All pieces are all signed "Georges Briard" in gold cursive font except for the Mix Your Poison glass and the Wood Alcohol glass (these two are not signed)

Measurements: Each glass measures 5 1/2" tall x 2 3/4" in diameter; the skull swizzle sticks are 6 3/4" in length and the Mix Your Poison glass measures 5 3/4" tall x 3" in diameter

Overall condition: Good vintage condition with mild signs of age/wear. This set has been in a cabinet for decades but does show some mild age. We like to be thorough when it comes to our vintage glassware, so here's a full summary:

1) As mentioned above, the Mix Your Poison glass and the Wood Alcohol glass do not bare signatures (not uncommon with this pattern)
2) All Gold Rx's on the sides are in great shape (one glass has two micro tiny specks of gold loss, very minor)
3) The Paris Green glass has a small chip on the top rim (see photos #6 and #7)
4) The Strychnine glass has some gold loss on the top gold trim above the poison label
5) The skull swizzle sticks show age around the glue residue that holds the jewels in place, it's chosen to darken/brown over the course of decades.

In short, this set is in good condition with signs of age outlined above. Overall, the graphics are vibrant and in good shape overall.

***General vintage glassware disclaimer: Please note, Mid Century glassware often had manufacturing occurrences such as waves in the glass, a tiny bubble in the glass, an extra dot of gold paint that made it on the black enamel, etc. Purely the nature of Mid Century glassware. Cheers!

**On shipping: We take our packaging very seriously and carefully wrap all pieces to ensure safe delivery (this set will be wrapped with extreme care and double-boxed to ensure safe arrival). This set will also REQUIRE a signature confirmation to ensure it was received by the correct recipient.
