A gorgeous silver-plated cocktail spoon by Gorham. This spoon measures just shy of 12" (11 3/4" in length) and features a stunning twisted handle. The long length of this spoon is magical. Heavier in weight, it has a solid feel to it. Truly a breath-taking spoon. The pictures don't do it justice.
Maker: Gorham
A little bit about this maker: Jabez Gorham started Gorham silver in 1831 in a shop on Steeple Street in Providence, Rhode Island. Born to a family of eight, he was apprenticed to New England silver patriarch Nehemiah Dodge at a very early age. Dodge is known as one of the founders of the silver and jewelry crafts industry in 18th century New England. After his seven-year apprenticeship with Dodge, Jabez formed his own business and quickly established a name for himself. For more than 150 years Gorham Silver has been known as one of the preeminent silversmith companies in the world and well-known for their vintage barware items.
Hallmarks: "Gorham Co N4/1" can be found on the back handle
Measurements: 11 3/4" in length
Condition: Good vintage condition. There's some mild/general surface wear to the silver-plating that can be seen when looking up close (that appears like micro thin scratches, etc). The silver-plating is in good shape overall and completely in tact. In short, this spoon is in good vintage condition with mild surface wear and displays beautifully.
