A lovely set of 4 vintage heavy silver-plated Julep cups by Webster Wilcox, 1940s. These vintage Julep cups have a magical feel to them. They are extremely solid/heavy in weight and well-crafted. They feature the traditional "footed" base and tapered design and a "beaded" design on the upper and lower part of the cup. Truly a stunning set.

Maker: Webster Wilcox

A bit about this maker: The Wilcox Silver Plate Co. (1867-c. 1980) was formed in Meriden, Connecticut. From 1865 to 1867, it was known as the Wilcox Brittania Co. In 1898, the company was acquired by the International Silver Company, headquartered in Meriden. After the acquisition, the Wilcox Silver Plate Co. brand continued until 1980.

Measurements:  Each cup measures 4 1/4" tall and the diameter is 3 1/4" -- please note: Webster Wilcox made these cups over several years and the shape and size varied (some wider, some slightly shorter), if trying to match existing cups please be sure this is the exact variation you're looking for. Cheers!

Hallmarks: Each cup has the "Webster Wilcox" etched on the bottom.

Condition: Good vintage condition with mild age inline with cups that are over 80 years old. Here's a full summary:

1) The silver-plating is in good shape; these cups do have some tarnish and patina.
2) Two of the cups interiors show some brass peeking through the silver-plating (these cups are silver-plated on a brass/metal mixture); see photo #9.
3) There's general surface wear including some scrapes and scratches from past handling, how they might have been stored, etc.
4) The bottom exteriors show surface wear and some micro fine scratches (likely from how they were cleaned in the past).

In short, these cups are in good vintage condition with age and wear outlined above. These cups are lovely and and have a magical feel to them.
