A rare set of 5 Imperial Glass Co. "El Tabique D’Oro" 22k gold tumblers/glasses. Truly a breath-taking (and rare) set. These glasses scream "Mad Men" and all things Hollywood Regency. Made by Imperial Glass Co in the early 1960s, these glitzy tumblers have real 22k gold in the paint. The diamond pattern is simply stunning with its raised texture from top to bottom. The El Tabique D'Oro pattern is one of their more rare patterns. A truly gorgeous set. The Imperial Glass Company was founded in 1901 by Edward Muhleman, with production beginning in 1904. Their handmade glasswares were sold worldwide and were typically made of pressed glass patterns. Their "Shoji" line, which was manufactured from 1965 to 1974, gilded with real 22k gold and is the quintessential style of the Hollywood Regency Era.
Maker/pattern/year: Imperial Glass Co., El Tabique D’Oro, 1965-1974
Hallmarks: Each is marked on the bottom with the Imperial Glass Company logo
Measurements: 5 3/4" tall x 2 3/4" in diameter
Condition: Very good to great vintage condition. Zero chips or nicks or cracks to any of the glasses. All glasses are clear/have pristine clarity. The 22k gold is incredibly vibrant. There's some extremely minimal gold loss in a few spots (and we mean minimal) and also a few spots within the rims where the gold didn't get filled in (this is completely common with this glassware line). Of the 5 glasses, one has ever so slightly more wear than the other 4. In short, these glasses are in great vintage condition with minimal gold loss and display beautifully.
