A stunning set of 7 Imperial Glass Co. "Sekai Ichi" old-fashioned glasses. These breath-taking low ball glasses were made by Imperial Glass Co. in the 1960s and have 22k gold in the paint, which gives them their vibrancy. This particular pattern is downright stunning with a criss-crossed diamond shape. It doesn't get anymore spectacular than these Hollywood Regency-style glasses. Truly a stunning set.

The Imperial Glass Company was founded in 1901 by Edward Muhleman, with production beginning in 1904. Their handmade glasswares were sold worldwide and were typically made of pressed glass patterns. Their "Shoji" line, which was manufactured from 1965 to 1974, gilded with real 22k gold and is the quintessential style of the Hollywood Regency Era.

Maker / pattern / year: Imperial Glass Company, Sekai Ichi, 1965-1974

Hallmarks: Each is hallmarked on the bottom with the Imperial Glass Company logo (IG)

Measurements: Approx. 3 1/4" tall x just shy of 3 1/4" in diameter

Condition: Very good vintage condition with mild signs of age/wear. These glasses have been in a display cabinet for decades. We like to be thorough when it comes to our vintage sets, so here's a full summary:

1) The glass clarity is pristine (no cloudiness)
2) The gold is in very good shape overall, extremely minimal wear overall
3) There's very mild general "age" (that comes purely from time, not use)
4) One glass has very minor wear on the gold rim (see photo #8)
5) One glass has a small imperfection in the glass rim and "dips" slightly (see photo #9), it's a small dip or "U" shape in the rim -- completely common with Mid Century glassware

Please note: Mid Century glassware often has imperfections (i.e. tiny bubbles in the glass, or a "seam" from when the glass was being created, an extra spot of gold or enamel that made it on a clear part of the glass, etc -- purely the nature of vintage glassware). When it comes to this Mid Century maker, the most common occurence was small areas that didn't get fully "filled in" with gold. Purely the nature of this MCM glassware pattern.

In short, these glasses are in very good vintage condition with mild signs of age. Truly a stunning set.

**On shipping: We take our packaging very seriously and carefully wrap all pieces to ensure safe delivery. These glasses will be double-boxed, to ensure safe arrival, which means a larger, heavier box.
