A lovely set of 8 tumblers by West Virginia Glass Co, still in their original box with the original authenticity card. This is one of our favorite West Virginia patterns and features "liquor/spirit graphics" that include "Vodka" "Rum"" Bourbon" "Gin" "Brandy" in rich black and vibrant gold along with specific recipes i.e. "Martini" "Tom Collins" "Rob Roy" and gold "starburst" or Atomic style stars. Similar to Culver and other Mid Century Modern glassware makers, West Virginia used real 22k gold in their paint/patterns. Truly a stunning set.

A bit about this vintage manufacturer: West Virginia Glass Specialty Company (WVGS) was based in Weston, West Virginia and created some of the most stunning glassware from 1929-1987 and was especially well-known for their hand-blown glass. In the 1950s and 60s, WVGS created a number of heavily embossed and/or Hollywood Regency style patterns that, similar to Culver, contained real 22k gold in the paint. These glasses do not bare a permanent hallmark but came with a gold foil sticker that said "West Virginia Glass Company" that was typically removed by the buyer after purchase.
Hallmarks: The glasses do not bare any hallmarks; the box is hallmarked along with the authenticity card.
Measurements: The glasses measure 5 1/2" tall
Condition: This set appears to be NOS (new old stock). Pristine condition. The box shows very minor age inline with a box that's 70 years old but beyond that, this set is in excellent condition.
