A rare and stunning 7-piece cocktail set by West Virginia Glass Co (pattern name "Old Lace"). The pattern reminds us a bit of the Cannella / Canella patten in terms of a "sandy" texture; however this pattern is an intense gold and the pattern is a criss-cross woven pattern. Truly a stunning set that screams Hollywood Regency and would make for a stunning display on one's bar cart or home bar.
A quick summary on this Mid Century glassware manufacturer: West Virginia Glass Specialty Company (WVGS) was based in Weston, West Virginia and created some of the most stunning glassware from 1929-1987 and was especially well-known for their hand-blown glass. In the 1950s and 60s, WVGS created a number of heavily embossed and/or Hollywood Regency style patterns that, similar to Culver, contained real 22k gold in the paint.

Measurements: the skyscraper pitcher measures 12 1/4" tall; the wand measures 16" in length; and the stemmed glasses measure 5 1/4" tall x 2 3/4" in diameter
Condition: Very, very good vintage condition. There are zero chips, nicks, or cracks. The glass has perfectly clarity. There is some very minimal gold loss in a few places (that likely occurred during manufacturing; these glasses were made in "molds" and often the "seam" of the glass didn't get as much gold applied as the rest (see photo #6 for reference); this is very subtle but noticeable on the pitcher and 4 out of the 5 glasses; again very subtle and likely occurred during manufacturing, not from use or wear). In short, this Mid Century set ins in very, very good vintage condition and displays beautifully. Truly a stunning and rare set.
