A lovely vintage figural jigger set by Napier. This set includes the One-Finger and Two-Fingers jiggers. The "one-finger" indicates "1 ounce". It also has the number 1 etched into the jigger to show exactly wear the 1 ounce marker is when pouring. The "two-fingers" indicates both the 1 ounce and 2 ounces markers. These jiggers came together as a set, however one has slightly more tarnish than the other jigger.

Napier started making this particular jigger in the 40s and continued this design through the late 50s. Truly a magical jigger.

A quick bit of history on Napier: The Napier Company was named after its president, James H. Napier, who led the company from 1920 to 1960. But the company's history can be tracked back to 1875 when it was founded as Whitney and Rice in Attleboro, Mass., manufacturing silver products. The firm changed hands and name in 1882 and became Carpenter and Bliss and shortly thereafter, E.A. Bliss and Co., Inc. After rapid expansion in the late 1880s the company moved to Meriden, CT in 1890. After WWI, the firm shifted emphasis from silver products to production of modern jewelry. James Napier became president in 1920 and the company adopted the name Napier - Bliss Co. In 1922, the name was changed to Napier Company. Like many jewelry companies Napier got into lines of art objects and other utilitarian objects like cocktail shakers. In the early to mid 1930s they started producing several cocktail shakers (most notably the "Dial a Drink shaker" and the Rooster motif shaker) other pieces of barware including their well-known graduated/stepped jigger, the mechanical/valve jigger, and their one-finger and two-fingers jiggers.

Condition: Very good vintage condition overall with minor signs of age. We're pretty Type A about the exact condition of our items, so here's a per jigger summary:

One-finger jigger: Near pristine. There's one tiny age spot (smaller than the size of a pinhead) to the interior of the jigger's bottom. There's also one small brown tarnish spot on the bottom of the jigger's exterior. And there's very mild tarnish in a few places on the exterior of the jigger.

Two-finger jigger: Very good condition overall. There's mild tarnish to the interior bottom of the jigger. There's tarnish/patina in some spots to the exterior of the jigger. The rim isn't perfectly round (it is really tough to tell as its very subtle, see photo). There's one very small (and we mean small) "ding" on the bottom edge of the jigger that's so subtle and shallow it was impossible to capture in a photo. Lastly, the "two fingers" aren't perfectly straight, one finger is slightly curved (we find this is pretty common with the Napier two-finger jiggers, see photos).

In short, this figural set is in very good vintage condition and displays beautifully. Truly a magical set.

Hallmarks: "Napier" is embossed on the bottom of the jigger along with a "c" in a small circle (for copyrighted)

Measurements: 2" tall and 3" tall
