A fun pair of "Bottoms Up" glasses by Cera, late 1960s. This scarce pattern features a cheeky (we had to ;) enameled design of a risque woman showing her bottom, which serves as the "O" on Bottoms Up. The enamel is a vibrant red and gray and white with a deep black trim,, dual--sided. On one side the ladies have black hair, on the other side you can find redheads. Truly a neat and extremely rare pattern. Bottoms up!
This set includes 2 glasses
Maker: Cera
Hallmarks: Both glasses are signed "Cera"
A bit about this glassware manufacturer: Cera Glass was made in Hackensack, NJ, USA, in the 1950s & 60s. They created elegant cocktail glasses, barware and other specialty pieces, which were sold in high end department stores of the era. Anthony Velonis, who was already a famous WPA silkscreener and artist, started the Cera Glass Company which pioneered methods of silkscreen printing on glass. Similar to other Mid Century glassware makers, his designs were trimmed in 22K gold.
Measurements: 4 1/4" tall x 3 1/24 in diameter
Condition: Very good vintage condition with mild age. Great glass clarity, no cloudiness. There's some minor surface wear, very minor. In short, these glasses are in very good vintage condition with extremely mild signs of age. Truly a lovely pair of Mid Century glasses. Cheers!
Please note: Mid Century glassware often has imperfections (i.e. tiny bubbles in the glass, or a "seam" from when the glass was being created, an extra spot of gold or enamel that made it on a clear part of the glass, a small "wrinkle" in the glass, etc -- purely the nature of vintage glassware).
**On shipping: We take our packaging very seriously and carefully wrap all pieces to ensure safe delivery. If purchasing multiple vintage pieces/sets, we'll combine shipping to a single box, if possible.
****Important to note pre-purchase: Buyers, please examine all photos carefully as we cannot accept returns due to the fragile nature (the possibility of breakage or damage when being shipped back) of our vintage/antique pieces. Our items are true vintage pieces that might have manufacturers flaws, flaws from age, or imperfections in general from being vintage. We try to explain the condition/description in an accurate and thorough manner but we ask that you please examine all photos carefully and ask all questions before purchasing an item as we are unable to accept returns due to the risk of breakage/damage.
