A rare set of Culver Giraffe glasses. This pattern is one of Culver's more rare patterns and features 22 karat gold embossed/enameled giraffes (the giraffes spots are a "raised" enameled texture). We tried to zoom in to capture the true stunning factor of this pattern. The pictures don't do it justice. Truly a stunning and rare set.

A quick summary about this glassware maker: Culver created the application of the 22-karat gold to their glassware. Fun fact: the super-heated, roll-on process of gold remains a secret today. Culver comes in a variety of patterns including gilded mushrooms, owls, cats, wildlife, Egyptian or Asian inspired design themes, scrolling leaf patterns, holiday designs, sports motifs and many others.

Maker/pattern/era: Culver Ltd., Giraffe pattern, Mid Century

Hallmarks: All glasses are signed "Culver Ltd" in 22k gold

Measurements: 5 1/2" tall x 2 3/4" in diameter

Condition: Good vintage condition. There are no chips or cracks or any kind. There is mild gold loss to a few places along the gold rim to several of the glasses. We're pretty Type A about the condition of our glassware, so here's a glass by glass summary:

Glass 1: mild gold loss in a few places on the upper gold rim
Glass 2: very, very mild gold loss in a few places on the upper gold rim
Glass 3: mild gold loss in a few places on the upper gold rim
Glasses 4 and 5 and 6: No gold loss

In short, these glasses are in good vintage condition, have mild gloss loss in a few places and display beautifully.

Cheers!
