A lovely solid sterling silver cocktail shaker manufactured Reed & Barton silversmiths of Attleboro, Massachusetts, 1930s. A tapered cylinder design with removable lift-up dome lid, pronounced spout with stopper/cap on a chain. This smaller in size shaker was referred to as a "single serve" cocktail shaker. Reed & Barton made this shaker in silver-plated and sterling silver. Truly a stunning piece that has a magical feel to it.

Maker/Era: Reed & Barton, 1930s

A bit about this manufacturer: Established in 1824 Reed & Barton is one of the oldest silversmiths in the United States. Founded in Taunton, Massachusetts, Reed & Barton grew from a small pewter shop into one of America's premier silversmiths, famous for high-quality sterling silver and silverplate. Known for their silver and silver-plated mastery throughout each era, the Reed & Barton Silversmiths division continued to produce a wide range of upper end items today including flatware, serveware, and barware. After creating silver and silver-plated pieces for decades, Reed & Barton officially came to an end in 2015.

Hallmarks: "Reed & Barton Sterling X110" can be found on the bottom of the shaker (see photos)

Measurements: 5-1/2" H x 4" L. x 3-1/2 W (weighs 150 grams)

Condition: Very good vintage condition with mild signs of age. It's been well-preserved but does show minor age. Here's a full summary:

1) There's mild tarnish (we have not polished this piece)
2) There's a micro shallow ding on the back body of the shaker that's so shallow it was impossible to capture in a photo
3) The interior of the shaker is clean and in great shape
4) There's what we refer to as surface wear (from past handling, etc) including a few small dark scuffs
5) The lid fits snugly and the cap/chain are secure
6) There's a tiny rough spot on the rim/mouth of the shaker

Overall, this  sterling silver shaker is in good vintage condition with mild age. Truly a lovely and rare piece.
