A lovely vintage sterling silver double jigger by Alvin, early Mid Century. This jigger is still in its original box and is NOS (new old stock). Such a beautiful piece. This double jigger features a smaller end (that holds 1 ounce) and a larger end (that holds 1 1/2 ounces) and has a sleek, classic design. Truly a lovely measure.
A bit about this vintage manufacturer: The Alvin Sterling Silver Company was founded in 1886 in Irvington, New Jersey. It was originally called the Alvin Manufacturing Company. The company produced sterling silver and silver-plated flatware. In 1919 the name changed to Alvin Silver Co until 1928 when assets, dies and patterns were purchased by Gorham Corporation operating in Providence plant as a separated division of Gorham under the name of Alvin Corporation. Today, Alvin is a subsidiary of Gorham, which continues to manufacture some of the early Alvin lines
Measurements: Approx 3 3/4" tall
Maker/year: Alvin Silver Co., early Mid Century
Hallmarks: "Alvin Sterling" can be found in small letters on the inside bottom of the larger jigger end.
Condition: Great condition. There's some mild tarnish (we have not polished this piece) but overall the jigger appears to be unused. The box shows some minor age/wear but is in good condition overall. In short, this sterling jigger is in very good shape.
