A stunning set of 6 sterling silver Art Deco rooster cocktail / olive picks, in their original box, 1920s. It doesn't get any more stunning than this set! The detailing and texture of these picks (from the rooster's feathers to the beak) is simply incredible is a lovly navy and feautures a pebbled texture to it with a black velvet and white silk interior lining and a brass clasp. Truly a breath-taking Art Deco set that has a magical feel to it.
A bit about this vintage manufacturer: Previously known as Robert Pringle & Co, the company became Robert Pringle & Son in 1882 and Robert Pringle & Sons in 1899. Robert Pringle & Sons made a wide range of silver items which have been assayed in Chester, London and Birmingham.
Condition: Very good vintage condition overall. The picks are all straight. There's mild tarnish on a few of the rooster finials. The box is in good condition overall however it does show age and wear to the exterior navy color inline with a box as well as all corners of the box exterior that's 100 years old (see photo #6). The clasp works perfectly. In short, this set of picks is in very good vintage condition overall with noticeable wear to a few areas of the exterior of the box.
Hallmarks: Each pick has 3 hallmarks: "R & P" (for Robert & Pringle), an "A" in a box, a "Lion" symbol inside a box, and a "Shield" symbol inside a box -- please note: there is not hallmark that says "Sterling" -- we tested the picks and they tested positive as Sterling.
Measurements: Each pick measures approx 3 1/4" in length
**On shipping: We take our packaging very seriously and carefully wrap all pieces to ensure safe delivery. If purchasing multiple pieces, we'll combine shipping to a single box (or as few boxes as possible) and will automatically reimburse you for all shipping overages paid.
****Important to note pre-purchase: Buyers, please examine all photos carefully as we cannot accept returns due to the fragile nature (the possibility of breakage or damage when being shipped back) of our vintage/antique pieces. Our items are true vintage pieces that might have manufacturers flaws, flaws from age, or imperfections in general from being vintage. We try to explain the condition/description in an accurate and thorough manner but we ask that you please examine all photos carefully and ask all questions before purchasing an item as we are unable to accept returns due to the risk of breakage/damage. Cheers!
