A lovely vintage sterling silver enameled "Stoplight" jigger by Alvin. The original enameled stoplight colors included green, yellow and red meant to signify "go," "caution," and "stop" (depending on the number of ounces you desire). Truly a magical figural measure.

A bit about this vintage manufacturer: Founded by Wm. H. Jamoneau in 1886 as Alvin Mfg Co. in Irvington, New Jersey. The firm changed to Alvin-Beiderhase Co (c. 1893).
In 1919 the name changed to Alvin Silver Co until 1928 when assets, dies and patterns were purchased by Gorham Corporation operating in Providence plant as a separated division of Gorham under the name of Alvin Corporation.

Please note: we have two of these vintage jiggers in our inventory (the other in slightly different vintage condition).

Measurements: Approx 2 1/2" tall x a tad over 2 1/4" in diameter

Maker/Era: Alvin / Mid Century

Hallmarks: "Alvin Sterling S275" can be found on the bottom of the jigger

Condition: Good vintage condition but with  some signs of age.  Here's a full summary:

1) There's a tiny spot of wear to the left side of the green stoplight
2) There's the shallow of shallowest small dings on the front of the jigger (below the green stoplight) and two micro shallow dings (smaller than a pinhead) on the back of the jigger's exterior
3) There are two shallow dings (pinhead size) on the bottom exterior of the jigger
4) The silver is vibrant overall but there's general age that comes purely from time and past handling

In short, this vintage jigger is in good vintage condition with mild age outlined above. Cheers!
