A lovely vintage silver-plated Abercrombie & Fitch flask with its original cork (inside the lid). Circa 1920s, this smooth flask is sleek and slim and was designed to easily fit inside one's pocket or boot. Heavier in weight, this flask is solid and well-made. Holds 6 ounces. We had a tough time capturing good photos due to the vibrancy/shine of the pewter. The photos don't do it justice. It was impossible to capture photos without picking up reflections of ceiling beams, etc. Truly a stunning piece.
Maker: Abercrombie & Fitch New York
Condition: Very, very good vintage condition with mild signs of age/wear. There is some mild surface wear to the silver-plating (and we mean mild). Overall, the silver-plating is vibrant (any reflections you see are the ceiling beams and other items in the room; this flask is so vibrant, we had a tough time capturing photos). There's also one tiny ding on the front left side (the size of a pinhead) that's so small and shallow it was impossible to capture in a photo. The cork is in excellent condition and completely in tact. Please note: when you screw/unscrew the lid, it does not screw all the way down to the flask's bottom/base of the flask opening. It was made like this by design, but we want to note it here. See photo #7 and #9. The cap screws down to about 85% of the neck of the flask. The box is in poor condition. It's top is missing and only the bottom of the box is present. See photos. Overall, this antique flask is in very , very good vintage condition. Truly a magical piece.
**Please Note: we typically do not test our flasks for leakage. We offer a variety of vintage flasks (both usable as well as collectible/display only). We are happy to put our flasks through a thorough leakage test (which involves filling it with liquid and rigorously shaking it) -- please message us if you'd like us to test this particular flask. Cheers!
Hallmarks on the bottom of the flask:
"Abercrombie & Fitch New York"
"Made in England"
"72"
"17 oz"
And there are a number of hallmark symbols. See photo for reference.
The box's bottom is also hallmarked. See photos.
Measurements: Please note: this is a larger flask. Larger than most antique hip flasks. Approx 8 1/2" tall x just shy of 4" wide x 1" in thickness.
Cheers!
**On shipping: We take our packaging very seriously and carefully wrap all pieces to ensure safe delivery.
