A lovely vintage pewter Abercrombie & Fitch flask in its original box and authenticity card. Circa 1930s, this smooth flask is sleek well-crafted. Abercrombie made flasks in a number of sizes and this is a larger size, holding 8 ounces. This flask is solid and has a magical feel to it. The screw on cap still has its original cork. This flask is so vibrant, we had a tough time capturing photos without picking up reflections. Truly a stunning piece.
Maker: Abercrombie & Fitch New York (made by James Dixon & Sons)
Condition: Very good vintage condition with mild age. We like to be thorough, so here's a fully summary:
1) There's what we refer to as general "surface wear" that includes scrapes and scratches (ie from past handling, how it was stored, etc), there's also surface wear on the bottom exterior of the flask.
2) The box is in very good shape overall but does show mild wear on a few of the edges and surface wear
3) There's a micro tiny (smaller than a pinhead) mark on the front of the flask that's so small it was impossible to capture in a photo
In short, this flask is in good vintage condition but does show age and wear inline with a pewter piece that's 90+ years old. Cheers!
**Please Note: we typically do not test our flasks for leakage. We offer a variety of vintage flasks (both usable as well as collectible/display only). We are happy to put our flasks through a thorough leakage test (which involves filling it with liquid and rigorously shaking it) -- please message us if you'd like us to test this particular flask. Cheers!
Hallmarks on the bottom of the flask:
"Abercrombie & Fitch New York"
"Made in England"
"70"
"8 oz"
And there are a number of hallmark symbols (for James Dixon & Sons). See photo for reference.
