Swoon alert! A gorgeous and rare set of 5 Atomic rocks glasses by Frank Maietta. The pattern is downright stunning and features an Atomic gold "burst" that consists of a soft pastel gold and red enamel. The "burst" or red and gold lines are simply stunning. These rocks glasses are larger in size (what's referred to as a double rocks glass) and are heavier in weight, with nice heavy bottoms. It doesn't get anymore Mid Century Atomic than these glasses. Truly a stunning, retro set.
Maker/era: Frank Maietta, 1960s
Hallmarks: Most all glasses are signed "Frank Maietta" in gold (3 of the signatures are pristine, 1 signature is slightly faded, and 1 signature is all but no longer present). Measurements: Each glass is 4 1/2" tall x a 3 1/2" in diameter
Condition: Good vintage condition with mild signs of age/wear. The glass clarity is clear (zero cloudiness). There is some minor gold loss in a few places. We're pretty Type A about the exact condition of our sets, so here's a glass by glass summary: Glasses 1, 2, and 3: Great condition. No gold loss Glasses 4 and 5: Very minor gold loss on some of the "rays" or bursts (1 glass more so than the other) In short, this set is in good condition with some minor gold loss. They display beautifully. Truly a gorgeous set.
