A gorgeous sterling silver cocktail spoon by Cohr. Our research tells us Cohr (a well-known Danish designer) was a part of Georg Jensen, also famous Danish designer (see details below). This stunning spoon measures 11 3/4" in length (and weighs 50 grams). The pictures don't do this spoon justice (we included photos in two different lighting settings to capture its true stunning factor). Heavier in weight, this piece is well crafted and features a long stem and Art Deco-esque finial that has a solid silver ball surrounded by a ribbed design. Truly a stunning bar spoon that has a magical feel to it.

Hallmarks: "Cohr Sterling Denmark" can be found on the back of the spoon's stem

A bit about this vintage manufacturer: Carl M. Cohr (1860-1925) was a Danish silversmith who took over the workshop of his father Ditlef (1829-1883) when he died. His factory in Fredericia made some of the best silverware in Denmark. The Cohr firm commissioned work from artists but was also known for the large scale production of jewellery which was more or less directly copied from work by Georg Jensen, Thorvald Bindeshøll and Mogens Ballin. When he died in 1925 Kaj Lützen took over as administrative director with Carl Cohr's son Einar. The silversmith Hans Bunde trained at the works 1937-41 and returned in 1951 as designer. The factory ultimately closed in 1987.

Measurements: Approx 11 3/4" in length (this spoon weighs 50 grams)

Condition: Good vintage condition overall with mild signs of age and what we refer to as general surface wear. We like to be thorough when it comes to our vintage pieces, so here's a full summary:

1) There's mild what we refer to as "general surface wear" (from past handling, etc) that can include micro fine scratches, scrapes, etc.
2) There's general "age" (that comes purely from time)
3) There's mild tarnish (mostly on the finial area)

In short, this silver bar spoon is in good condition with mild signs of age and mild surface wear; it displays beautifully. Cheers!
