A lovely glassware set by West Virginia Glass Co. This stunning set features a bold orange/red Fox pattern and includes 6 tumblers and 1 pitcher. The rims of the glasses have a thin gold accent. The photos don't do this set justice. Truly a stunning one.

A bit about this vintage glassware manufacturer: West Virginia Glass Specialty Company (WVGS) was based in Weston, West Virginia and created some of the most stunning glassware from 1929-1987 and was especially well-known for their hand-blown glass. In the 1950s and 60s, WVGS created a number of heavily embossed and/or Hollywood Regency style patterns that, similar to Culver, contained real 22k gold in the paint. They also did a number of colored glassware sets (pink glass, purple glass, blue glass). These glasses do not bare a permanent hallmark but came with a gold foil sticker that said "West Virginia Glass Company" that was typically removed by the buyer after purchase.
Hallmarks: None (West Virginia's glassware came with a gold foil sticker that was often removed once purchased).
Measurements: The glasses measure 5 1/2" tall x 2 3/4" in diameter; the pitcher measures 9 1/2" tall x 4" in diameter
Condition: Very good vintage condition. No chips or nicks. The glass clarity is perfectly clear. If this set got used, it doesn't to appear to have been much. The enameled Fox pattern is pristine. There is some extremely minor (and we mean minor) general age. Overall, this set is in very good condition and displays beautifully. Cheers.
Please note: Mid Century glassware often has imperfections (i.e. tiny bubbles in the glass, or a "seam" from when the glass was being created, an extra spot of gold or enamel that made it on a clear part of the glass, etc -- purely the nature of vintage glassware).
