A stunning set of 4 vintage heavy silver-plated Julep cups by EG Webster & Sons. These vintage Julep cups are downright magical. They are extremely solid/heavy in weight and well-crafted. They feature the traditional "footed" base and tapered design and a "beaded" design on the upper and lower part of the cup. They are slightly larger than other vintage Julep cups we've sold. Truly a stunning set. Why not serve your drinks or Mint Juleps in these stunning beauties?

Maker: EG Webster & Sons

A bit about this maker: The firm of Elizur G. Webster began the silverplating activity at 175 Broadway, NY in 1860. In 1867 the Webster Manufacturing Co was incorporated with E.G. Webster as president and A.A. Webster as secretary but in 1875 the firm changed its name back to E.G. Webster & Brother. In 1886 A.A. Webster left the partnership (forming A.A. Webster & Co) and E.G. Webster formed a new partnership with his son Fred H. Webster under the name of E.G. Webster & Son. E.G. Webster died in 1900 and the business was continued by his son Fred H. Webster until 1928 when the firm was sold to International Silver Co.

Measurements: Each cup measures just shy of 4 3/4" tall (right in between 4 1/2" and 4 3/4") and the diameter is a tad of 3 1/2"

Hallmarks: Each cup has "EGW & S" and "IS" (International Silver Co.) in small boxes (which stands for International Silver) and "425" on the bottom

Condition: Good vintage condition with mild signs of tarnish and age. The cups themselves are in very good vintage condition. One cup has a series of micro shallow dings. All cups have mild tarnish. We like to be thorough when it comes to our vintage pieces/sets, so here's a full summary:

1) One cup has a series of micro tiny, shallow dings/scrapes on one section, lower on the cup (see photo#8 and #9, where our finger is pointing) -- they are very shallow but can be seen
2) That same cup has two other micro small, shallow dings on the other side of the cup (that were impossible to capture in a photo)
3) There's mild tarnish that should polish away with a thorough polishing
4) There's general "surface wear" to all cups including micro fine "scratches" here and there
5) The interior of the cups have what we call tiny "age spots" -- they are very subtle, see attached photo of the interior of the cups (see photo #4)

In short, these antique Julep cups are in good vintage condition with general age/wear and mild tarnish. These cups are lovely and display beautifully.

**On shipping: We take our packaging very seriously and carefully wrap all pieces to ensure safe delivery. Please note: we're not making a penny! These cups are solid/very heavy in weight and will be packed well to ensure safe arrival, which means a larger, heavier box!
