A lovely set of silver-plated Julep cups by Towle Silversmiths, 1970s. These vintage Julep cups are simply lovely and feature the classic "tapered" design with a thicker footed base and beading detailing along the base and top. Heavier in weight, these cups are solid and well-crafted. Truly a lovely set.
Measurements: each cup is just shy of 4 1/2" tall x 3 1/2" in diameter
Maker: Towle Silversmiths
Hallmarks: Each cup has "Towle" embossed on the bottom
Condition: Good vintage condition overall but with noticeable signs of age. Two of the cups show noticeable age to the bottom interior (one more so than the other). We like to be thorough when it comes to our vintage pieces/sets, so here's a full summary:
1) Two cups have very noticeable age to the silver-plating (see photos #6 and #7) -- while it might polish up some, it will not polish away completely as it's actual age to the silverplating.
2) These cups have mild patina and tarnish (please note: we have not polished these cups)
3) One cup has what we call "age spots" that are darker in color on the bottom underside of the cup
4) No dents or dings. One has has a very shallow small area that we believe is purely a manufacturing occurrence as it doesn't appear to be a ding. It's so insignificant it was impossible to capture in a photo.
In short, these Julep cups are in good vintage condition overall but with noticeable signs of age. If you're looking for a set that's closer to NOS (new old stock), please see our other Julep cup listings as this set does show age and patina. They display beautifully. Cheers!
**On shipping: We take our packaging very seriously and carefully wrap all pieces to ensure safe delivery. If purchasing multiple pieces, we'll combine shipping to a single box (or as few boxes as possible) and will automatically reimburse you for all shipping overages paid.
****Important to note pre-purchase: Buyers, please examine all photos carefully as we cannot accept returns due to the fragile nature (the possibility of breakage or damage when being shipped back) of our vintage/antique pieces. Our items are true vintage pieces that might have manufacturers flaws, flaws from age, or imperfections in general from being vintage. We try to explain the condition/description in an accurate and thorough manner but we ask that you please examine all photos carefully and ask all questions before purchasing an item as we are unable to accept returns due to the risk of breakage/damage.
