A lovely set of 8 vintage silver-plated Julep cups. These cups are from the Mid Century (1960s) and simply gorgeous. Each cup is heavier in weight, has a solid feel to it; these are well-crafted cups. These cups are also slightly larger (5" tall) than some vintage Julep cups (which tend to be closer to 4 or 4 1/2" tall). They have a beaded detailing at the top and bottom and are the traditional tapered design. Why not sip your Mint Juleps out of these vintage Julep cups?!
Measurements: Each cup is 5" tall x 4" in diameter
Hallmarks/era: None
Condition: Very good condition. Beyond general "age" (which comes purely from time), these vintage cups are in very good condition overall. We like to be thorough when it comes to our vintage pieces, so here's a full summary:
1) There's some tarnish (please note: we don't polish our vintage pieces as some buyers are very particular about as is condition)
2) Several of the cups have wear/age to the very bottom interior -- 1 cup more so than the other cups (see photo #8), where you can see wear through the silver-plating in the very bottom interior of the cup
3) Some of the cups have what we refer to as small "age spots" which are darker spots that occur to silver-plating over time that will likely never polish away
4) There's some surface wear (including light scratches here and there) to some areas of the cups
5) Ther's dark tarnish on the bottom exterior of some of the cups (again, we have not polished these cups)
6) One of the cups bottom rims (that sits on the counter) has a small rough spot
We know the above might sound nit-picky, but we like to be thorough on our vintage pieces. In short, these cups are in good vintage condition overall with signs of age. They display beautifully. The pictures don't do this set justice.
