A stunning set of 6 silver-plated Art Deco rooster cocktail / olive picks, in their original velvet and silk-lined box by vintage manufacturer Elkington & Co Ltd. It doesn't get any more stunning than this set! The detailing and texture of these picks (from the rooster's feathers to the beak) is simply incredible. The box is a hard-sided chocolate brown tone with an ivory-toned silk interior lining. Truly a breath-taking Art Deco set. Why not spear your next cocktail olive or cherry with these gorgeous sterling silver Art Deco cocktail picks?!

Condition: Good vintage condition with signs of age. The picks themselves are all in great vintage condition. However the box shows wear/age and the brass clasp won't close properly. Again, please NOTE: the box clasp does not work properly and will not shut/close fully. The box's exterior also shows age including a few places of wear to the chocolate leather. The picks themselves are in great shape, all straight, and fairly vibrant with very mild tarnish (which can be polished away if the buyer chooses). Overall, these picks are in very good vintage condition and the box is in "fair" condition due to not clasping properly. Truly a lovely set.

Hallmarks: The box is hallmarked "Elkington & Co Ltd Court Jewelers 22 Regent St"; the picks do not bare a hallmark. We believe these picks to be silver-plated. Erlington was known for making many 925 sterling silver items but as these picks do not bare any hallmarks we believe them to be silverplated.

A bit about this vintage manufacturer: Elkington & Co Ltd. was founded by George Richards Elkington and his cousin, Henry Elkington, in the 1830s. It operated under the name G. R. Elkington & Co. until 1842, when a third partner, Josiah Mason, joined the firm. It operated as Elkington, Mason, & Co. until 1861, when the partnership with Mason was terminated. The firm operated independently as Elkington & Co. from 1861 until 1963. It was then taken over by British Silverware, Ltd.. In 1971 British Silverware, Ltd. became a subsidiary of Delta Metal Co. Ltd.Over the course of history it became very successful and was one of the prime producers of silver plating.

Measurements: Each pick measures 3" in length
